Penny Sempert at Open House talking about her favorite topic "quilting." Shipshewana Remembered is in the background. | Pineapple Press Patterns began in 2001 after I had taught a class using handkerchiefs to create basket blocks. The class was so successful that I had requests for a pattern. That single pattern has led to a full line of patterns, classes and lectures!
I have taught quilting classes for thirteen years, managed a quilt shop and a sewing machine dealership, and now enjoy creating patterns that are unique and memorable for the quilters that will make them! Each of my patterns has a connection to something old. Handkerchiefs, buttons, needlework, chenille and antique quilts are the inspiration for the Pineapple Press Patterns. These treasured elements are renewed to be enjoyed again in today's quilts.
I really love coming up with patterns, but the greatest thrill is when I see the quilts you made using them. I'm always "wowed" when I see "your" interpretation of my quilts!
